Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing solution temperature control unit and method for a photosensitive material processing apparatus capable of reducing electricity charges concerned with start of the photosensitive material processing apparatus by utilizing cheap midnight power. SOLUTION: A controller receives information on the temperature of a processing solution from a temperature sensor after the end of night operation. Information on a specified temperature range and the time to which midnight power charges are applied has been stored in a memory. On the basis of these informations, the controller raises the temperature of a processing solution to the upper limit of the specified temperature range at the end of night operation with a heater using cheap midnight power within the time to which midnight power charges are applied. Electricity charges can be saved as compared with the case where the temperature of the processing solution is raised to the specified temperature range using only daytime expensive power.
