Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train position detection system which specifies the position on a track of a train without setting a special device around the track and on a railroad line. SOLUTION: This system to detect the position on the track of the train to which an electric current is supplied under a third rail method is furnished with: a railroad line information communicating device 1 set on the railroad line of the track and to communicate a wireless data including discriminating information of its own station; a train information communicating device 2' set on the train and to measure a distance between the railroad line information communicating devices by receiving the wireless data from them, to detect receipt of an electric current from a feeding rail under the third rail method, to generate electric collecting side information by judging a side to receive the electric current and to communicate it as the wireless data with the discriminating information of the train; and a train position detection device 3 set on the railroad line of the track, to receive the wireless data from the railroad line information communicating device and the train information communicating device and to measure a train position on the track by using information of a position and a setting side of the feeding rail under the third rail method.
