Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transport direction correcting device of a sheet-like body and a guide roller for use in it, facilitating the fitting work and the assembling work to an external device. SOLUTION: This device is adapted to correct the transport direction of a sheet-like body W by tilting a guide roller B for stretching the sheet-like body W on the basis of the detected transport direction of the sheet-like body W. The guide roller B is so constructed that a guide cylinder 24 for transporting and guiding the sheet-like body W is supported to be tilted within a required range of angle to a support shaft 13, and the guide cylinder 24 has a built-in driving mechanism C including a driving source M1 for tilting the guide cylinder 24 within the required range of angle to the support shaft 13.
