Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and highly precisely conduct positioning adjustment and repositioning adjustment of a light receiving element which is used to detect scanning start position of a laser scanner. SOLUTION: In the laser scanner, laser beams emitted from a laser diode 11 are deflected by a deflection scanning means and used to scan a photosensitive body, the deflection scanned laser beams are received by a photodiode 12 to obtain scanning timing signals of the laser beams and the laser diode 11 and the photodiode 12 are integrally mounted on one and the same circuit board 10. The photodiode 12 is mounted on a sub-board 20 and the sub-board 20 is relatively made movable with respect to the circuit board 10. Fine adjustment of received light beam timing that is used to detect scanning start position is easily and highly precisely conducted by performing position adjustment of only the photodiode 12 along the scanning direction of the laser beams while the laser diode 11 is fixed.
