Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing apparatus in which a safety cap fit to a throwing-in part is prevented from being pushed upward and dropped out of the throwing-in part by the waste water flowing backward into a crushing part or from being rotated by the vibration or the like generated in the crushing part. SOLUTION: This crushing apparatus is composed of a main body provided with the throwing-in part being an inlet of garbage, the crushing part arranged below the throwing-in part for crushing the garbage and a discharging part communicated with an outside drainpipe and the safety cap which is fit to the throwing-in part to be opened/closed freely and provided with a means for starting the crushing part. This crushing apparatus is provided with a locking projection arranged in the inner peripheral upper part of the throwing-in part, an engaging groove which is arranged on the safety cap and can be engaged with the locking projection and a locking step part formed in the engaging groove.
