Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing apparatus with which a still picture can be variously enjoyed in reproduction. SOLUTION: In an image reproducing apparatus 1 capable of switching and reproducing a plurality of still pictures recorded on a disk 10 of a DVD-Audio standard, the still pictures can be switched by applying a visual effect that is set by a user out of a plurality of predetermined visual effects composed of cut-in/out, fade-in/out, dissolve and wipe, thereto at all the time, the generation frequency of the visual effect set by the user is improved, the visual effects can be applied at random, and the still pictures can be switched.
