Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for improving image processing properties. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes means for registering one or more addresses of holes having a size within a predetermined range during execution of registering processing for a binary registered image and a binary test image. When a hole is detected in the test image within a predetermined range from the address position of a registered hole during collating processing of the registered image and test image, the hole is judged to be concordant. It is a necessary condition for judgment of concordance with regard to the registered image and test image that, when all registered holes are examined for concordance, the number of concordant holes exceeds a predetermined ratio to the total number of registered holes.
