Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data access request remapping method and data processing device that access a data item in a ROM, in a data processing system field. SOLUTION: The method includes a step of storing a replacement data item in a portion of a RAM memory block, a step of intercepting a data access request from a processor to the ROM, a step of comparing a portion of the address of the intercepted data access request with an identifier specifying a data item stored in the ROM, and a step of, in dependence on the comparison, either accessing the replacement data item or accessing a data item located in a position corresponding to the address on the ROM.
