Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid remaining of non-joined points on the surface opposite to a probe operation surface in friction stir joining. SOLUTION: A central line L1 of a probe 14 constituting a tool 10 for friction stir joining is mal-distributed to an end 2a side existing on an advancing side from a boundary line L2 by abutting of the end surfaces 1 and 2 of a cylindrical body C. At this time, the distance D between the central line L1 of the probe 14 and the boundary line L2 is set within a range below the radius of the probe 14, more preferably at half the radius of the probe 14 or below. The probe 14 is displaced in this state along the abutting points. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
