Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain gene markers capable of becoming indices of malignancies of various cancers such as multiple myeloma, and uses of them. SOLUTION: The drug resistance markers consist of polynucleotides having at least continuous 15 bases and/or complementary polynucleotides to the above polynucleotides in the base sequences of PDZK1 gene, MCL1 gene, KCNN3 gene, MGC4365 gene, FLJ22530 gene, IRTA2 gene, FLJ23221 gene, S100A6 gene or SPAP1 gene. The drug resistance markers contain antibodies recognizing PDZK1, MCL1, KCNN3, MGC4365, FLJ22530, IRTA2, FLJ23221, S100A6 or SPAP1. Also, a method for detecting the drug resistances by using the markers, a method for screening substances inhibiting the expressions of the genes or proteins by using the markers, and antisense nucleotides or double strand RNAs inhibiting the expressions of the above genes in cancers exhibiting the drug resistances caused by the amplifications of the genes are provided.
