Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening pharmaceutical candidate compounds in which development of new pharmaceuticals, particularly exploratory research of new pharmaceuticals is made highly efficiency. SOLUTION: This screening method comprises a testing A, a testing B and/or a testing C. The testing A comprises (1) a step for bringing a heteroprotein into contact with an expressed transformed yeast and a specimen to be examined, (2) a step for culturing the yeast under conditions capable of expressing the protein and (3) a step for measuring growing state of the yeast. The testing B comprises (1) a step for bringing a candidate substance in the specimen to be examined into contact with a heteroprotein and (2) a step for detecting mutual action between the heteroprotein and the candidate. The testing C comprises (1) a step for subjecting the candidate substance in the specimen to be examined to enzymatic reaction by using cytochrome P450 derived from human, (2) a step for analyzing a changing body and/or non-changing body of the candidate substance after enzymatic reaction and (3) a step for referring to the analyzed result, evaluating in vivo kinetics of the candidate substance and selecting a physiologically active substance.
