Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately measure a head slider floating amount in a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device is provided with a magnetic disk 3 having a servo area for recording servo data and a data area for recording user data, a magnetic head slider 1 for recording/reproducing the information of the magnetic disk 3, and a floating amount calculation circuit for calculating a magnetic head slider floating amount based on the information of the magnetic disk 3. The magnetic disk 3 has a calibration track group 4 in which a plurality of floating amount measuring tracks recording floating amount measuring data 5 are adjacently disposed at an interval in a diameter direction to be seen very small compared with a magnetic head slider width. The floating amount calculation circuit calculates the floating amount of the magnetic head slider 1 based on the floating amount measuring data 5 recorded in the plurality of floating amount measuring tracks of the calibration track group 4.
