Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the reproduction of highly reliable data by effectively detecting a burst error (abrreviated to B error hereafter) when the data recorded by a BIS code and an LDC code are decoded. SOLUTION: In the case the error suspicious to B error is generated in the BIS code on a 1st decoder 6a, when the number of error bits of the error calculated by a hamming distance calculating part 6a1is a certain threshold or more, the disappearing position making this error as B error is set by a disappearing position deciding device 7 , and the B error in the LDC code is corrected for disappearance by a 2nd decoder 6b. Further, in the case there is many B errors of short burst length in the past in an error historical information storage part 9, when the error is generated in the BIS code or a synchronizing signal, the generation of the B error of the short range is decided by a short B error deciding part 7b, and in the case the many long B errors exist in the past, when the error is generated at the same horizontal position of a plurality of BIS codes and synchronizing signals, the generation of the B errors extended to a whole or to the certain virtical line in a cluster is decided by a long B error deciding part 7c.
