PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointing device equipped with both a direction indicator input function as a direction indicator switch and its deciding function in addition to a coordinate input function as a pointing device. SOLUTION: This pointing device D is provided with a dome-shaped main body 6 supporting a projecting spherical resistance surface 4 to be integrally interlocked with an input operating part 9 to freely rotate at the projecting face side of a face-shaped conductive member M or an upside-down cup-shaped conductive elastic member 2 so that the position data of the input operating part 9 can be read by using electric characteristics generated at the contact position of the projecting spherical resistance face 4 and the face-shaped conductive member M or the conductive elastic member 2. Furthermore, the face-shaped conductive member M or the conductive elastic member 2 and the projecting spherical resistance face 4 are sealed in the dome-shaped main body 6, and a plurality of click members 19 to be brought into contact with a substrate P are arranged outside the dome-shaped main body 6, and when the input operating part 9 is inclined outward at a predetermined angle or more, the click members 19 are pressed to the substrate P side by a portion of the input operating part 9 so that the click members 19 can be elastically deformed, and that a click touch can be generated in the input operating part 9.
