Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means giving a high fixing strength, and a new optical isolator having mass productivity improved. SOLUTION: A metallic film layer is formed on a surface perpendicular to a light transmission area of a Faraday rotator and surfaces connecting to the perpendicular surface, which are other than light transmission areas of two surfaces adjacent to the perpendicular surface and are at the center height or lower of the light transmission area, and a metallic film layer is formed on surfaces perpendicular to light transmission areas of respective polarizers and surfaces connecting to the perpendicular surfaces, which are other than light transmission areas of one or two surfaces adjacent to the perpendicular surfaces, and a stress buffer material is provided with an aperture part, and a metallic film layer is formed on a surface perpendicular to a surface having the aperture part formed and surfaces connecting to the perpendicular surface, which are other than the aperture part and are at the center height or lower of the aperture part, and each component is fixed to an attachment substrate by these metallic film layers.
