Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-strength hydrogel which facilitates the addition of e.g. an electrolyte, allows the control of the contents of its constituents and the crosslinking density, is excellent in mechanical characteristics such as breaking strength and tensile strength, and has stretchability, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The hydrogel has a constitution wherein water having at least a polyvinyl alcohol polymer dissolved therein is kept in a polymer matrix obtained by subjecting a polymerizable monomer having one polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond and a crosslinking monomer having two or more polymerizable carbon-carbon double bonds to copolymerization and crosslinking. It has a tensile breaking strength of 10 kPa or higher and an elongation at break of 350 to 1,000%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
