PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition and a photosensitive coloring composition which are used for a color filter excellent in heat resistance, light resistance, and transparency. SOLUTION: The coloring composition has a coloring material and a resin as the major components, and the coloring material contains a coloring matter monomer having a specific anion as the essential component and a specific cation as an optional component and at least one kind selected from polymers obtained by polymerizing the coloring matter monomer. The photosensitive coloring composition comprises the above coloring composition and a photosensitive material.
