Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biopsy needle for suction in which the operability can be improved without complicating the configuration. SOLUTION: The biopsy needle 1 is provided with an insertion portion 2 which is inserted into a therapeutic instrument insertion channel of an ultrasonic endoscope so as to be freely moved forward and backward, a handle portion 3 disposed at a distal end of the insertion portion, a hollow needle tube 5 which is inserted into the inside of the insertion portion to puncture an intra-celom tissue, and a stylet 6 which is inserted into the inside of the needle tube and has almost the same length as that of the needle tube. The needle tube is constituted so that a gap between the needle tube and the stylet is narrow near its distal end and the gap between the needle tube and the stylet is wide at a portion closer to the proximal end side than the distal end.
