Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy a request to reduce the noise when rotating an engine at a low speed and a request to reduce the back pressure when rotating the engine at a high speed at the same time, and to reduce the cost by reducing the number of part items, and to enlarge a degree of freedom when loading an exhaust control valve in a muffler limited in space in the height direction thereof by reducing the projection height from an annular seat surface. SOLUTION: A helix spring 4 formed into a nearly V-shape generates the energizing force F0in a direction for closing a gap between a fixed working point P1, in which one end of the helix spring is locked with a valve seat 1, and a movable working point P2, in which the other end thereof is locked with a valve element 2. The fixed working point P1 is provided at a position more separated from the annular seat surface 12 in comparison with a support shaft 3 of the valve element 2 and at a position in the nearly same level with the annular seat surface 12 lower than the support shaft 3 of the valve element 2. The movable working point P2 is provided at a position closer to the support shaft 3 in comparison with a position in the annular seat surface 12 nearest to the support shaft 3 of the valve element.
