Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the liquid flow passing through a duct of a host body such as a urethra or a blood vessel. SOLUTION: In the system, the implantable device for controlling the liquid flow inside the host body comprises a tightening member 1710 for allowing the liquid flow inside a body canal when it is in the open position and for reducing the liquid flow inside the body canal when it is in the close position. The tightening member 1710 can be operated from an extracorporeal position by using the remote-controlled measurement. The tightening member 1710 comprises a piston with at least two protrusions to be brought into contact with the surface of the body canal. A fluid pressure member reduces the liquid flow inside the body canal by receiving a fluid, and allows the liquid flow inside the body canal by discharging the fluid. The system also has a driving member 1720 for operating the fluid pressure member between the open position and the closed position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
