Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member capable of withstanding sliding for a long time even in a dry state. SOLUTION: A sliding layer 3 is provided on a surface of a base material 2. The sliding layer 3 contains polybenzimidazol (PBI), and 1-70 vol.% solid lubricant. The PBI which is a thermoplastic resin is more excellent in heat resistance and higher in material strength than PAI, PI and EP which are known thermoplastic resin. Thus, wear resistance and non-seizure property can be enhanced, and degradation of the material strength caused by heat generation in a high-temperature atmosphere or during the slide can be suppressed. In addition, the elongation is also high, and the initial fitness can also be enhanced. Further, since the sliding layer contains a solid lubricant, the friction coefficient can be reduced thereby, and the non-seizure property can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
