Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analog/digital converter, in which gain and offset of a quantizing device are sufficiently stable for time and temperature, and required precision and linearity are obtained. SOLUTION: The device which adaptively compensate for an inaccuracy in the analog/digital converter 100, comprises a comparator 104 which compares an analog input signal 102 to a reference signal 108, and generates a decision signal 110, and an adder 112 which generates an error signal 114, by adding the analog input signal to a control signal 130. Magnitude of the control signal is determined by an accumulated value 126, and the sign of the control signal is determined by the decision signal. Further, the apparatus includes a correlation multiplier 116 which calculates a correlation value 118 between the error signal and the decision signal, and an accumulator 124 which adaptively compensates for the inaccuracy in the A/D converter, by generating the accumulation value accumulating the correlation values.
