Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always place a tandem drum type color image forming apparatus in a small color slurring state by preventing differences in phase angle between a black drum and other color drums from varying before and after the performance of a black mode (rotation of only the black photoreceptor drum). SOLUTION: A printer CPU 110 controls rotations of the photoreceptor drum for black and photoreceptor drums for other colors so as to prevent the differences in phase angle between the photoreceptor drum for black and photoreceptor drums for other colors in color-mode image formation from varying before and after the performance of the black mode.
