Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the operability of reading a transparent original from being deteriorated in an image reading apparatus capable of reading the transparent original with a read area corresponding to the number of frames that is a half the number of frames for one strip film. SOLUTION: Provided is a film holder wherein the read area includes a half of all the frames for one strip film when one corner of the film holder is matched with a corner of an original platen of the image reading apparatus in the same positional relation and which has a strip film holder arranged at a position of the read area including other frames than the half of the frames of the strip film when a corner of the film holder opposite to the matched corner in the longitudinal side direction is matched with a corner opposite to the matched corner of the original platen of the image reading apparatus in the lateral side direction.
