SOLUTION: The exhaust gas desulfurization method or a drainage purification method utilizes an iron oxide as an exhaust gas desulfurizing agent which is obtained by manufacturing an iron-containing solution by performing an acid treatment on an iron waste containing one, two or more of dust, sludge and scale all containing iron, burning the iron-containing solution thus obtained after hydrolyzing the same.
