PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a division transmission apparatus in a layer 3 network which can dividedly operate a physically connected layer 3 IP network at a logical level of a layer 3 and which is low-cost, easily maintained and user-friendly. SOLUTION: In the layer 3 network division transmission apparatus, network group information 1-1 for grouping networks in units of nodes and information 1-2 corresponding to a port VPN for grouping networks in units of LAN ports are set to a layer 2 packet header attached part 1-5, node group information and information corresponding to the port VPN are set to a layer 2 header of a packet, the a transmission section 1-5 transmits the resulting packet to the layer 3 network. The layer 2 header of the packet received by a reception section 1-8 from the layer 3 network is referenced, the network node group information and the information corresponding to the port VPN are recognized and its own node captures the received packet when the above information belongs to a group of its own node LAN port.
