Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a spill code issuance position against waste issuance of spill codes. SOLUTION: A spill code issuance position specification method includes a step of acquiring data on the number of times of execution of each basic block, a step of specifying a fat spot as an area in which data on a particular variable stored in a register must be migrated to a memory, and a step of specifying a position causing a minimum number of times of execution of a spill code about the particular variable according to a definition point of the particular variable, a reference point to the particular variable, data on the fat spot and data on the number of times of execution of each basic block. The specification of the position causing a minimum number of times of spill code execution according to the number of times of execution (measured or predicted number of times) of each basic block avoids waste spill code issuance and also optimizes the number of times of spill code execution.
