Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous emulsion of ethylene-vinyl acetate-based copolymer, containing or producing no formalin which is a harmful substance, and controlled as having a small particle diameter. SOLUTION: This method for producing the aqueous emulsion of the ethylene-vinyl acetate-based copolymer is provided by using a transition metal salt, erythorbic acids and/or ascorbic acids as reducing agents in a redox system catalyst, initiating the polymerization at 15-35°C temperature, elevating temperature to a prescribed polymerization temperature of 50-80°C by 0-60 min after the starting of the polymerization by using only the heat of the polymerization as a heat source and continuing the polymerization at 50-80°C afterwards.
