Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a network setting operation required at the time of connecting peripheral equipment such as a printer and a digital camera to a radio LAN. SOLUTION: The printer 105 gathers the identification information of a peripheral radio access point 102 or the like beforehand, performs radio connection by using the optional one of the identification information and acquires an IP address from a DHCP/DNS server 101. The DHCP/DNS server 101 registers the network address of the printer 105 in relation to the host name of the printer 105. A computer 103 where registration utility software is executed periodically inquires of the DHCP/DNS server 101 the network address of the printer 105, and when the network address of the printer 105 is solved, transmits a connection OK notification to the printer 105. The printer 105 can be connected to the radio LAN by the reception of the connection OK notification. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
