SOLUTION: A map is displayed on a display screen 3-4 of a user's personal computer 3 for enabling the selection and specification of any point on the map as destination. Destination-setting data D, including the information on the location of the point selected and specified as the destination, is created and registered in a database 5. The registered destination-setting data D in the database 5 are downloaded to the side of the car navigation device 2 and are set as a destination in the car navigation device 2.
