Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel-saving lubricating oil composition having excellent abrasion preventing performance. SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition is produced by dissolving or dispersing (a) 0.01-0.3 wt.% nitrogen-containing ash-free dispersing agent in terms of nitrogen in the agent, (b) 0.05-0.5 wt.% alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt of an alkyloxybenzenesulfonic acid in terms of the metal content, (c) 0.02-0.08 wt.% zinc dialkyldithiophosphate in terms of phosphorus content and (d) 0.02-0.2 wt.% molybdenum-containing compound in terms of the molybdenum content in a base oil having an evaporation loss of ≤17 wt.% and a kinematic viscosity of 2-6 mm2/s at 100°C and composed of a mineral oil or a synthetic oil having a lubricating oil viscosity. The ratio of the metal content of the component (b) to the molybdenum content of the component (d) is within the range of 1:4 to 20:1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
