Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide-band amplifier which can reduce the production cost, and can be applied to a miniaturized system. SOLUTION: The amplifier has an erbium-doped optical fiber 320 which is stimulated by primary stimulating light for erbium ion stimulation and 2nd stimulating light for Raman propagate inductive, and amplifies optical signal, a primary pumping light source 340 which outputs the primary stimulating light having a predetermined wavelength for the erbium ion excitation of the erbium-doped optical fiber, a primary wavelength selection coupler 330 through which the optical signal amplified by the erbium-doped optical fiber passes, and inputs the primary stimulating light to the erbium-doped optical fiber, a second pumping light source 360 which outputs the second pumping light having a predetermined wavelength for the Raman propagate inductive of the erbium-doped optical fiber, and a second wavelength selection coupler 350 through which the optical signal amplified by the erbium-doped optical fiber passes, and inputs the second stimulating light to the erbium-doped optical fiber.
