Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a small internal defect compared with a prior art, without being affected by the deflection of a steel sheet. SOLUTION: A large number of sensor heads 3 provided with a magnetosensitive element 4 is arranged to be elevated and inclined freely on the steel sheet running along a surface of a magnetizer roll 1. Each of the sensor heads 3 is provided respectively with air single-nozzles in both ends of the linear magnetosensitive element 4 extended along a roll axial direction, and the each sensor head 3 is floated up from the steel sheet in about 20-150μm of close distance, using a balance between resiliency and suction force generated with respect to the steel sheet by an air flow delivered from the air nozzles. Sensitivity of five times is thereby attained compared with conventional one. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
