Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater position measuring method and an underwater position measuring device dispensing with correction, and capable of easy measurement. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic wave W1 or the like is transmitted from a transmitter T1 or the like on an underwater execution machine 1, and received by a receiver R1 or the like for performing GPS positioning of the position on a measuring ship 2. Arrival times are determined respectively by determining mutual correlation between the transmitted ultrasonic wave and the received ultrasonic wave, and a quadratic equation with four unknowns on three-dimensional coordinates of the transmitter on the underwater execution machine 1 and on the underwater sound velocity is solved, to thereby determine the three-dimensional coordinates (x, y, z) of the transmitter on the underwater execution machine 1 and the underwater propagation velocity C of the ultrasonic wave.
