Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water quality monitoring/controlling apparatus in which abnormality in the value measured by a water quality sensor can be diagnosed quickly, and to provide a sewage treating system equipped with the water quality monitoring/controlling apparatus. SOLUTION: This sewage treating system is provided with one or more bio-reactors for treating sewage and the water quality monitoring/controlling apparatus for monitoring whether or not the treated sewage satisfies the prescribed target water quality. The water quality monitoring/controlling apparatus is provided with the water quality sensor (an ammonia nitrogen concentration meter) 5 which is used for controlling the target water quality and by which the target water quality (ammonia nitrogen concentration) is measured, the water quality sensor (an oxidation-reduction potentiometer) 4 which is used for diagnosing the abnormality and by which the relative water quality (an oxidation-reduction potential (ORP)) is measured and an abnormality diagnosing part 50 for diagnosing whether the target water quality measured by the sensor 5 is abnormal or not by considering the correlation between the target water quality and the relative water quality.
