Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode structure for a solid polymer fuel cell capable of suppressing reduction of the power generation property of the fuel cell by suppressing deposition of a ruthenium component at an anode diffusion layer even in a condition of shortage of fuel and in a high voltage operation. SOLUTION: In the electrode structure composed of a polymer electrolyte membrane, and an anode and a cathode having a catalyst layer and a diffusion layer, ruthenium is dispersedly distributed on a boundary surface between an anode catalyst layer and the anode diffusion layer and/or on a boundary surface between the polymer electrolyte membrane and the anode catalyst layer.
