Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-lost terminal capable of displaying windowing information of a host. SOLUTION: In communication with a host system (10), windowing information from a host is received, and the windowing information of the host is displayed on a terminal (12) which does not completely have compatibility with the host. A method of updating terminal operating characteristics via a communication link (14) from the host (18) is also disclosed.
