Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-reliability image forming apparatus, which securely prevents the reverse rotation of a developing unit during the work of taking a developing device off a revolver, secures safety in the maintenance, and preserves the developing device. SOLUTION: When the developing devices 16-18 are replaced, the developing unit 20 is fixed by a lock nail 37d and the reverse rotation of the developing unit 20 is simultaneously prevented by a reverse rotation prevention gear wheel 38, by rotating a lock lever 37b and by manually rotating the developing unit 20 while the lock nail 37d is moved to a lock position. Accordingly, the developing unit 20 can be securely fixed at the replacement position for the developing devices 16-18. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
