Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic traction control system in an electronic control system for independently applying brake to each wheel of a work machine and controlling the brake at least partially on the basis of the speed of an articulation part of the work machine. SOLUTION: This articulated work machine has a front frame and a rear frame connected for pivotal movement therebetween to steer the machine by an articulation joint. The front frame and the rear frame have respectively two driven wheels separated in the lateral direction in a state that each has an associated brake. When the machine articulates during the steering, one or more wheels lose traction force, which may cause slipping. This electronic traction control system receives a measured wheel speed signal and a joint angle signal, calculates a desired wheel speed corresponding to the wheel speed signal and the articulation angle signal, and selectively applies the brake until the measured wheel speed becomes equal to the desired wheel speed. This electronic traction control system is applied to adjust the wheel slip of the articulated machine such as a wheel loader. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
