Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet reorder in which manufacturing yield is enhanced by removing foreign substances from the ink channel and the ejection nozzle after an ink jet head is assembled and a cleaning system is provided in order to recover from clogging with foreign substances during use. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises an ink jet head provided with nozzles for ejecting liquid, and an ink channel provided with an ink filter and connected with the ink jet head wherein the ink jet head has an ink channel other than an ink supply passage and foreign substances in the ink jet head can be removed by sucking liquid containing foreign substances from a channel other than the ink channel. An ink pump disposed in a channel other than the ink channel sucks liquid containing foreign substances from a channel other than the ink channel thus preventing clogging of the ejection nozzle and removing foreign substances in the ink jet head.
