Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating boron-containing water, capable of removing boron in wastewater. SOLUTION: The method for treating boron-containing water has a solution preparing process for preparing a solution with a pH of 10.5-11.5, which contains 25-200 mmol/L of calcium ions, 6-30 mmol/L of sulfate ions and aluminum ions of which the amount brings an atomic ratio Al:B of boron and aluminum to 1.7-20:1, from the boron-containing water and a precipitation process for raising the pH of the solution to 11.0-12.0 to form a precipitate and coprecipitating or adsorbing boron on the precipitate to remove the same. Boron can be removed efficiently by the method for treatment of the boron-containing water. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
