PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating apparatus which has the safety function of decreasing or stopping the heating output, when a heated article is transferred, and of hardly interrupting user's cooking operations. SOLUTION: The induction heating apparatus comprises an induction heating coil for producing a high-frequency magnetic field and heat an article to be heated; an inverter circuit for supplying a high-frequency current to the induction heating coil; an input part for setting heating, a transfer detecting part for detecting the transfer of a heated article; and a control part for stopping or suppressing the output of the inverter circuit, when the transfer detecting part detects the transfer of a heated article, wherein, according to settings of the input part, the detection sensitivity of the transfer-detecting part is made dull, or the detection is stopped, or the suppressing operation of the control part is made weak or is stopped.
