Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical junction box which can realize high-density packaging by suppressing a change in a housing form by accompanying putting a movable type equipment installation tray into and out of extra length sections of an optical cord and optical cable housed in the tray to a smaller level. SOLUTION: The optical junction box is equipped with the movable type equipment installation tray 11 which is drawable by a prescribed length to the outside of a housing rack body 5 as a unit housing section for housing equipment 7 and 8 for optical communication, in which the optical cord 13 and optical cable 19 put into and out of the tray are respectively fixed to both of the tray and the housing rack body 5 by means of a rack side cable fixture 23 and tray side cable fixtures 33 and 34 and the extra lengths of the cable are imparted between the fixture 23 and the fixtures 33 and 34; in addition, the positions of the fixture 23 and the fixtures 33 and 34 are so set that the extra lengths of the tray suffice with about half the total drawing length of the tray.
