Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance corrosion resistance of a container main body while restraining a production cost and a product cost. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a joined metal block Z is formed by joining preliminarily the first metal block A serving as a main material for the container main body constituting a radioactive material storage container to the second metal block B having corrosion resistance by forging, the joined metal block Z is inserted into a container forming die 50, and the container main body of the radioactive material storage container is integrally formed by hot extension. In this manufacturing method, the joined metal block Z having the first metal layer and the second metal layer is also formed by casting the second metal having the corrosion resistance into a billet forming die after casting the first metal serving as the main material for the container main body into the billet forming die, and the container main body is integrally formed.
