Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for controlling an introduction ratio of a phenolic compound to be introduced or an introduction ratio between two or more phenolic compounds to be introduced in obtaining a phenol derivative of lignin from a lignocellulose material. SOLUTION: The method comprises (a) a step for obtaining a first lignin phenol derivative by adding an acid to a lignocellulose material previously made affinitive using a first phenolic compound and (b) a step for obtaining an (n+1)th lignin phenol derivative by adding an acid to the nth lignin phenol derivative previously made affinitive using an (n+1)th phenolic compound, and the step (b) is sequentially carried out N times from n=1 to n=N (wherein N is an integer of at least 1) to obtain an (n+1)th lignin phenol derivative in respective steps (b).
