Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high safety and reliability in an interlock device of a seat for a vehicle with a simple and inexpensive structure. SOLUTION: In the seat for the vehicle, a pivotal shaft 5 at the side of a seat back 3 is mounted to a bracket 4 at the side of a seat cushion 2 so that the seat back 3 can be freely tilted around the pivotal shaft 5 in a front and rear direction. A turning quantity detecting means 20 for detecting that the quantity of relative turning around the pivotal shaft 5 of the seat cushion 2 and the seat back 3 is a prescribed quantity or over is provided, and when detection is made by the turning quantity detecting means 20, the operation of a rotating mechanism 7 and a slide mechanism 10 is allowed. With such a structure, comparing to the structure in which the seat cushion 2 is provided with a pressure-sensitive switch, presence or absence of a seated passenger can be more inexpensively and surely detected to prohibit or allow the operation of the rotating mechanism 7 and the slide mechanism 10.
