SOLUTION: The network repeater comprises a transmitting side apparatus, a transmitting side network repeater, a receiving side network repeater interconnected with the transmitting side network repeater, a section 29 for detecting respective buffer sizes of a receiving side apparatus and judging a smallest one as a maximum forwardable size, and a section 25 for updating the maximum forwardable size of the transmitting side apparatus depending on that maximum forwardable size.
