PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing polyamic acid permitting efficient production of a polyamic acid solution of a high solid content in a short time through a simple process, especially when an acid dianhydride having a low solubility in a polymerization solvent is used, and a polyamic acid solution of a high solid content obtained by the method. SOLUTION: In a process of mixing a diamine and an acid dianhydride and polymerizing the diamine and the acid dianhydride through polycondensation in the presence of a polymerization solvent, the acid dianhydride is used as an acid dianhydride slurry in which the acid dianhydride is dispersed with a dispersion medium. The method permits direct manufacture of a high-concentration polyamic acid solution having a concentration of the acid of 10 wt.% or higher. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
