PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamic acid composition which is a polyimide precursor, a process for preparing polyamic acid and a terminally blocked polyimide. SOLUTION: The polyamic acid composition comprises polyamic acid substantially comprising an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid component and an aromatic diamine component and an organic solvent, wherein the concentration of the polyamic acid is 0.1-50 wt.%. Here, all or a portion of amine terminal groups of the polyamic acid are terminally blocked through amic acid formation reaction with a compound of formula (I) (wherein multiple X1s are independently identical to or different from each other and are each a non-reactive electron-attracting group; and n is an integer of 1-4).
