PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the tampering of information on an image formation medium containing a latent image for detecting duplication. SOLUTION: The image processing method includes a first image generating step which generates such an image 40 as can be read from an image forming medium where a main information image 36 and a latent image for detecting duplication are formed into images; a unidirectional value calculation step which performs unidirectional value calculation with the image generated by the first image generating step; an image conversion step for converting a first unidirectional value 42 that is calculated in the unidirectional value calculation step into an image; and a second image generating step for generating, such an image 48 as the image of the first unidirectional value 42 converted by the image conversion step, the main information image 36, and the latent image 38 for detecting duplication are stacked together.
